Trip to Genting Highland - Pre CMCO

Assalamualaikum wbt and good day everyone. I have not been sharing much in my blog right? Well, pretty much my day today has been quite similar since March. Hectic and full of online meetings each day. It was hard to adapt at first, working from home as we have to divide ourselves to become a worker, a mother and a wife at the same time. Plus, everything must be done through meetings whereby when we are at the office, we can just call for a quick huddle.

Anyway, since life has been quite hectic during MCO we decided to have a short trip to Genting Highland as it was just 30 mins drive from my mother in law's house.  Genting was not as crowded as before. We parked at GHPO and took a cable car to the top. It was windy and the kids loved it so much. We went together with my MIL and my sister in law together with her family as well.

The Genting Indoor Theme Park is already open, the same goes to the SkyAvenue shopping mall. Well, I did not shop there as most of the store is what we have in KL and around where I live as well. So we went there to ride the attractions and to have fun. Of course with social distancing and hand sanitizers everywhere, I felt kind of safe.

Genting did a good job in providing a sanitised escalator handrail machine but I still dare not to touch them. My favourite place out of all Genting would be at the top level of the Sky Avenue where Harry Ramsden The Laughing Fish restaurant is located. That particular area reminded me of Italy (they have this outdoor Fire Warmers) just because of the smell of coffee, pizza and some other foods.

I can't wait to travel again someday but meantime, I can just save up some money for my next travel. hehe

Till then,
xx

Life as a Work From Home (WFH) Mother - Year 2020

Assalamualaikum and salam Sejahtera everybody! I know it has been months since my last update in this blog. I have tried not to neglect it but boy I was quite busy with the new arrangements of working from home or the new abbreviation we learn this year which is WFH. This year of 2020 has been the most uncertain year since I was born. Everything has been a surprise for me and my husband and my mom as well. Suddenly we all are glued to the TV and social media news just to keep each other updated on the news.

As a working mother, I am thankful to have my husband's help in taking care of our daughter since he was being dropped from his job during the early months of MCO started. Even with that, I am still struggling to juggle between working and becoming a mother at the same time. When work is piling, I was out of hand and becoming a little bit stressed.

When the MCO is not as strict, I got the chance to go to the office on a rotational basis Team A Team B kind of thing. While most of the companies are still practising working from home arrangements, my workplace is taking its chance to have this kind of arrangements instead. Some working from home parents are quite unsure if they would be able to send their kids to the nursery etc. But i  did took the liberty to send my daughter to the nursery as she had been in the house for nearly 3 months. Well, that is the longest time I have not been to malls, to shops even outside.

Our routine has become more similar each day during MCO. Meetings and more frequent night tasks were expected for us to deliver. And everything was treated as URGENT. During some of the weekend, it would be the pool day for my daughter.

It was hectic, as communication was also not the same as having to do work face-to-face. Some people have doubts on the working level because somehow they do not trust them it seems. But all in all, I am glad I did conquer the working from home arrangements quite well.

Since this would be the new normal for us, I tend to grasps it in and let it be. I don't have to even think about it anymore as it has been like a norm to us.

I pray that the pandemic will soon over as I miss having to go out without needing to worry.
